US East is our North American region for Dragonwilds. The servers sit in Northern Virginia, the densest internet hub on the continent, and suit groups anywhere from the East Coast through the Midwest and the South. It is also the usual pick for a table split between the US and western Europe, because it sits between them.
A Dragonwilds dedicated server runs the world for everyone at it, so every player feels the distance to it in combat timing and in how quickly the world responds. A data-centre server near the middle of your group evens that out, and it stays open when the friend who used to host goes to bed.
Every server runs Jagex’s official dedicated server from Steam, natively on Linux, and checks Steam for a new build each time it restarts — so after a patch it stays on the version your players are running. Upload a world you already play and carry on.
Everything included with the server — the dashboard, backups, world upload and how players find it — is on the main RuneScape: Dragonwilds server hosting page.
All plans include DDoS protection, automatic backups, and 24/7 support
For the East Coast, Midwest and South, yes. For groups mostly on the West Coast the distance to Virginia is longer; it is still the closest region we sell Dragonwilds in today, and if we add a western region you can ask us to move the server there.
Up to 6 — the game’s own limit for a dedicated server, as Jagex’s guide gives it, on every host. All six seats are included on every plan, wherever it is hosted; plan size is about RAM, not how many friends can join.
Jagex’s 1.0 release notes added a crossplay option to dedicated servers. PC players join by searching the exact world name in Worlds → Public; we are testing the console route on our own servers before we describe it here.
