BeamMP Auth Key Setup
Required for your server to appear in the public server browser
What is a BeamMP Auth Key?
A BeamMP Authentication Key is a unique identifier that links your server to your BeamMP account. It serves several important purposes:
- Server Browser Visibility: Without an auth key, your server won't appear in the public BeamMP server browser (players can still join via direct IP)
- Server Ownership: The key proves you own and control the server, preventing impersonation
- Server Management: You can manage your server's listing, name, and description through the BeamMP Keymaster
Auth keys are free and provided by BeamMP. Each key is tied to one server.
Note: Your server is joinable immediately via direct IP! The auth key is only needed to appear in the public server browser where other players can discover it.
How to Get Your Auth Key
Go to BeamMP Keymaster
Visit the official BeamMP Keymaster website to create or manage your authentication keys.
Open BeamMP KeymasterSign In or Create Account
You'll need to sign in with your BeamMP/BeamNG.drive forum account. If you don't have one, you can create a free account. This is the same account you use to play BeamMP.
Create a New Key
Click "Create a key" or "New Key" button. You'll need to provide:
- Server Name: The name that appears in the server list
- Server IP: Your server's IP address (shown on your success page)
Copy Your Auth Key
Once created, you'll see your auth key - a long string of letters and numbers (UUID format). Copy this key carefully.
Example format:
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxAdd to Your Server
You can add your auth key in two ways:
Option A: On the Success Page (Easiest)
After purchasing, paste your key directly on the checkout success page - we'll configure it automatically.
Option B: In the Control Panel
Go to your server in the Pterodactyl panel → Startup → Find "Authentication Key" (AUTHKEY) → Paste your key → Save.
Important Notes
- Keep your key private - Don't share it publicly as others could use it to impersonate your server
- One key per server - Each server needs its own unique auth key
- Server restart required - After adding or changing your key, restart your server for changes to take effect
- IP must match - The IP you enter in Keymaster must match your server's actual IP address
Troubleshooting
Server not appearing in list?
Make sure your auth key is entered correctly, the server is running, and you've restarted after adding the key. It can take a few minutes for the server to appear.
Auth key invalid error?
Double-check that you copied the entire key and there are no extra spaces. The key should be in UUID format (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).
Can I use one key for multiple servers?
No, each server requires its own unique auth key. You can create multiple keys in the BeamMP Keymaster for free.
