Getting Started with Your Palworld Server
Just grabbed a Palworld server? Here's how to find it, boot it, and get your friends catching Pals together in about five minutes.
Finding Your Server
Once your order clears, your server appears in your dashboard. Click it to open the panel — this is where you start the server, change settings, manage backups, everything.
Starting It Up
Hit the Start button. The Console will fill with startup logs while Palworld loads the world. First boot takes 30–90 seconds — don't worry if it's not instant. When the log settles and shows the world is ready, you're live.
Getting Your Connection Details
The IP and port are shown right at the top of your panel. That IP:port is what you and your PC friends use to join. Copy it somewhere your group can see it.
Joining the Server
On PC (Steam/Mac): in Palworld choose Join Multiplayer (Dedicated Server), then Connect via IP, and enter your IP:port. The in-game browser exists but is unreliable — connecting by IP is the way that always works.
Playing with console or Game Pass friends? Two things first: enable their platform in crossplay (Xbox/PS5), and know that consoles can't type an IP — they join by searching your server name in the in-game list. Set a memorable name so they can find it.
Your First Settings Change
Out of the box you're on Palworld's default rules. Most groups tweak a couple of things early:
- Open the World Settings tab.
- Try a preset (Casual is popular for co-op), or nudge individual rates like XP and capture.
- Save, then restart — settings only apply on boot.
