DeceasedCraft
Server Hosting
Loot a city overrun by the infected — and hold a building when the horde arrives.
DeceasedCraft is the urban zombie-survival pack inspired by Project Zomboid and 7 Days to Die: procedurally generated cities split into hand-built districts, more than 100 weapons and guns, special infected, vehicles to repair and a quest line that ends with a cure. Horde waves scale with each player’s playtime, which is why it plays best on a server that stays up. Order here and DeceasedCraft comes pre-selected, with Forge, Java 17 and the official server pack installed before your first join.

How much RAM does DeceasedCraft need?
DeceasedCraft needs 8GB of server memory to start and runs best on 10GB — the same guidance our checkout enforces, so a plan that can't run the pack can't be bought with it. Every size below carries it; resize anytime and your world moves with you.
8 GB
300% CPU · 60 GB NVMe · 3 backups · 1 DB
Clears the pack's minimum — fine for two or three careful players, with little headroom to spare.

01Order with the pack pre-selected
Come from this page and DeceasedCraft is already picked at checkout — no searching, no version guesswork. Choose a plan and region and pay.
02We install everything server-side
Provisioning sets up Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, the matching Java runtime and the pack's own server files. Most servers are joinable within minutes.
03Update and roll back from the panel
Pack updates install with one click and a backup snapshots your world first — following a pack’s development never risks the map.

DeceasedCraft server pack & server files
DeceasedCraft publishes its server files as a separate Server Pack download on the pack’s CurseForge Files tab — the newest server-ready build is DeceasedCraft_Beta-5.10.17. It is not the same zip as the client pack: client-only mods are stripped out and start scripts are included. DeceasedCraft on CurseForge ↗
Running the DeceasedCraft server yourself
- 01Install Java 17 — the runtime Forge on Minecraft 1.20.1 is built for. The wrong Java is the most common reason a pack server refuses to start.
- 02Unzip the server pack into an empty folder and run its start script (or the Forge installer it bundles).
- 03Give the JVM 10GB with -Xmx — 8GB is the realistic floor for this pack.
- 04Accept the EULA in eula.txt, forward port 25565, and keep the machine on whenever anyone wants to play.

About the pack
What is DeceasedCraft?
DeceasedCraft drops you into a modern city after the infection has already won. The Lost Cities generates the streets, and the pack’s own team fills them with more than 60 custom buildings — office towers, hotels, a hospital, retail plazas, suburbs — designed by an architect and stocked from over 800 loot tables. You scavenge, claim a building, fortify it and build a tech base out of Create and Immersive Engineering, while 15-plus special infected and an escalating horde system decide how long that base survives.
The survival layer is deliberately semi-realistic: thirst, temperature and seasons, body-part damage, a diet system that grants extra hearts for eating well, a skill tree, parkour, and an infection you can cure with a golden apple or succumb to. NPC survivors give quests and then trade with you, and abandoned cars can be restored or built from scratch. The current 5.10 line is the open beta of the v6.0 overhaul with new districts and weapons; the Wasteland and Abyss endgame districts are not in it yet, so the authors point groups who want a finishable run at v5.5.5.
From our game servers team
Running DeceasedCraft well
Decide beta or complete before the first night
The newest build is the v6.0 open beta: better cities and guns, but no endgame yet, and the authors do not promise beta worlds will carry into v6.0. If your group wants to reach the cure, switch the server to v5.5.5 from the Software tab in your panel before anyone builds a base — changing versions mid-world is how bases get lost.
Hordes follow playtime, not the calendar
Horde strength is tracked per player and grows with the hours they have played. A friend who joins late faces easier waves than the veteran beside them, so plan base defences around your most-played member, not the newest.
Skip the Distant Horizons edition on a server
The pack also ships a DH Edition with far-distance rendering, which is what the trailers were filmed on. It needs a strong PC on every client and 12GB or more on the server. Stay on the standard build unless your whole group asked for it.
Back up before every city run
Looting a high-rise is where vehicles, guns and a week of progress get lost. Automatic off-server backups run on every plan; take a manual one before a big expedition so a wipe-out costs an evening, not the world.
