Cobblemon Official Modpack
Server Hosting

The modern creature-collecting mod that stays true to Minecraft.

Cobblemon is the new-generation take on creature collecting: monsters modelled in Minecraft’s own art style, capture and battling woven into survival rather than replacing it, and a famously active open-source team shipping updates. The official Fabric pack is the supported way to play it, and ordering here pre-selects it — server booted with Fabric, Java 21 and the pack installed.

How much RAM does Cobblemon need?

About the pack

What is the Cobblemon Official Modpack?

Where older creature mods bolt a different game onto Minecraft, Cobblemon builds one inside it: blocky, vanilla-styled creatures spawn in the world, capture uses craftable Poké Balls, and progression sits alongside normal survival — you still build a base, farm, and mine between hunts. The official modpack bundles Cobblemon with the team’s recommended performance and quality-of-life mods on Fabric 1.21.1, which is the configuration the developers actually test.

It has become the default “play this with people who like normal Minecraft” creature pack — over ten million downloads and one of the most active mod communities anywhere. On a persistent server, spawns keep rotating by biome and time of day, so the group Dex genuinely benefits from everyone’s odd play hours.

From our game servers team

Running Cobblemon well

Lighter than Pixelmon, but still entity-driven

Cobblemon’s vanilla-style models and Fabric base keep it efficient, but living spawns are still the load. 6GB runs a small group; 8GB is our recommendation and keeps spawn-dense areas smooth.

Survival still matters here

Unlike full-conversion packs, your group will also build, farm and explore vanilla-style — so worldgen and base redstone contribute load too. Balanced, which is why standard plan sizing works well for it.

Ride the update train through the panel

Cobblemon ships significant content updates at a fast cadence, and the official pack follows. Panel updates keep server and clients matched — and a pre-update backup is automatic.

Datapacks extend the Dex

The community publishes species datapacks and add-ons at a remarkable rate. They install like any Fabric mod through our file manager or the panel’s content browser — test on a fresh backup, as with any addition.
