ATM10 vs Aeronautics vs To the Sky: Which All the Mods 10 Pack?

"All the Mods 10" is now four separate packs with four different server sizes. Which has the airships, which is the skyblock, why you cannot bolt Create: Aeronautics onto ATM10, and what each one idles at.

"All the Mods 10" is now four different packs, and the names do not make it obvious which is which. One is the famous kitchen sink. One bolts flying airships onto it. One throws the ground away entirely. One is a much smaller pack that only does the airships. They are not versions of each other — they are separate installs with separate worlds and, importantly, separate server sizes.

Here is which is which, and what each one costs you in memory.

The four packs at a glance

All the Mods 10The flagship kitchen sink~50010GB / 12GB
ATM10: AeronauticsATM10 rebuilt around working airships400+10GB / 12GB
ATM10: To the SkyATM10 as a skyblock320+6GB / 8GB
All of Create AeronauticsAirships only, no kitchen sink250+6GB / 8GB

All four run NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. Mod counts are approximate and move with each pack update.

"Does ATM10 have Create: Aeronautics?"

No — and this is the single most common mix-up, so it is worth being blunt about.

Create: Aeronautics is not in the base All the Mods 10 pack. If you want airships, you install All the Mods 10: Aeronautics, which is a separate pack by the same team. Adding the mod to an existing ATM10 server yourself is not the same thing and is not supported: Aeronautics ships its own balance changes, power overhauls and custom recipes built around the airship mod, which is most of the point.

They also cannot share a world. Switching from ATM10 to Aeronautics means a new world on a new install, so decide before your group has sunk fifty hours into a base.

All the Mods 10: the default choice

ATM10 is the reference kitchen-sink pack of this Minecraft generation — roughly 500 mods of tech, magic, storage and exploration, held together by quest progression that ends at the ATM Star. It has 21M+ downloads and it is what most people mean when they say "All the Mods".

Pick it if your group wants the big, well-trodden experience with the most guides, videos and community answers behind it. It is the safest choice on this list precisely because it is the one everyone else is also running.

It is also one of the heaviest packs in existence. The pack author asks for 10GB server-side as a minimum, and that is not a padded figure — undersized ATM10 servers are the most common "my server keeps crashing" report we see. The crash typically arrives an hour into a session, when the garbage collector finally runs out of room, which makes it look like a host problem rather than a sizing problem.

ATM10: Aeronautics — "ATM10.5"

Aeronautics is the All the Mods team's newest pack, and the team's own framing is that it is something like ATM10.5 rather than a side project. It runs the full ATM10 mod list on NeoForge 1.21.1 and puts Create: Aeronautics on top — the mod that turns Create contraptions into genuinely flying airships, with every block on a moving ship simulated as it moves.

What makes it worth a separate install rather than a mod you bolt on:

  • It is threaded through progression, not dropped in. Custom items, new pipe networks, balance changes and power-system overhauls so airships are part of the pack's economy.
  • Two mods debut here — Neo Vitae and Excessive Utilities, continuations of Blood Magic and Extra Utilities.
  • It uses the 6.0 branch of Regions Unexplored for worldgen, so the world itself is not identical to ATM10's.
  • You can ignore the airships entirely and still get a different ATM10 — the custom items and rebalances stand on their own.

Two things to know before you commit a group to it. First, it is young: the pack is in active 0.x development and updates land frequently on the way to a 1.0. Update from the panel rather than hand-copying files, so a broken pack version is a restore rather than a rebuild. Second, the airship physics are CPU work, not memory work. Budget RAM like ATM10 — 10GB floor, 12GB comfortable — but expect the core speed to be what you actually feel when a big ship is under way.

ATM10: To the Sky — the cheap way into ATM10

To the Sky is the official skyblock edition: you start on one tree over empty void and build up to the same mods, machines and endgame as the main pack.

It is the best-value pack on this list for a group on a budget, and the reason is structural rather than a discount. There is no terrain, so there is almost no world generation to pay for — and worldgen is the expensive part of running a modern modpack. Our bench server idled at 5.4GB with nobody online, and the pack author asks for 6–8GB. That puts a comfortable To the Sky server two tiers below a comfortable ATM10 one.

It also suits servers particularly well: the pack ships Skyblock Builder, so friends can each have their own island or share one, and skyblock progression is long-running factory work that keeps producing while everyone is offline. The caveat is the back half — the factories you build later are what eventually push a busy community server toward 12GB anyway.

All of Create Aeronautics — airships without the kitchen sink

This is the one people reach for when they tried Aeronautics and realised they only wanted the flying part. 250+ mods built around Create and its airship add-on, with none of the ATM tech tree.

Our bench server idled at 3.8GB — by far the lightest pack here, and a genuine 6GB-tier pack rather than a 12GB one. The ship physics are still CPU-hungry, so a fast core matters more than extra gigabytes.

Pick it if "build an airship with my friends" is the whole plan. Pick Aeronautics instead if you want that plus several hundred hours of tech progression around it.

Picking a size

Those idle figures are measured on our own bench servers with nobody online, which is the number worth knowing because it is the floor — it is what the pack costs before your group does anything. Real sizing sits above it:

  • Idle is not a plan size. A pack that idles at 5.4GB needs 8GB to be comfortable, because players load chunks, build machines and generate world.
  • Player count moves the number more than the pack does past a certain point. All four packs want the next tier up on a busy server.
  • Automation is what grows over time. The memory curve on a kitchen-sink server does not flatten — month three costs more than week one, so buy the tier you will want then.

For the wider table across every pack we run, see how much RAM a modded Minecraft server needs.

Which one to run

  • The full, famous experience, with the most community behind it → All the Mods 10.
  • The same scale, but your group wants a reason to build something new → Aeronautics.
  • ATM10 progression on a smaller budget, or you just like skyblock → To the Sky.
  • Airships are the entire point → All of Create Aeronautics.

All four are one click at checkout here — we pre-select the pack, install NeoForge and Java 21, and have it running before anyone joins. The one-click updater snapshots a backup before each pack update, which matters most on Aeronautics while it is still moving fast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ATM10 Aeronautics the same as ATM10?

No. They are separate packs with separate installs and separate worlds. Aeronautics runs the full ATM10 mod list and adds Create: Aeronautics plus its own custom items, pipes and balance changes, and uses a different worldgen branch. You cannot move an ATM10 world into Aeronautics.

Can I just add Create: Aeronautics to my ATM10 server?

You can add the mod, but you will not get the pack. Aeronautics ships rebalanced recipes, power changes and custom content built around the airship mod, and those are what make it coherent. If you want that experience, install the Aeronautics pack rather than modifying ATM10.

How much RAM does an ATM10 Aeronautics server need?

10GB minimum and 12GB recommended — the same as ATM10, because it is the same mod list with more on top. The airship simulation is mostly CPU rather than memory, so a faster core is the upgrade that shows up in how a moving ship feels.

Which All the Mods 10 pack is the cheapest to host?

All of Create Aeronautics, which idled at 3.8GB on our bench server and runs happily at 6GB. Of the full ATM10-scale experiences, To the Sky is the cheapest at 6GB minimum — it idled at 5.4GB — because a skyblock world has almost no terrain generation to pay for.

Where do I get the ATM10 Aeronautics server files?

From the pack's own CurseForge listing, under its Files tab — look for the server pack rather than the client download, which is the trap that leaves people with an empty /mods folder and a server that boots vanilla. On a server ordered here you do not need to: we resolve and install the official server files for you, and the panel updater fetches each new version with a backup taken first.

Do these packs work on Fabric?

No. All four are NeoForge packs on Minecraft 1.21.1. A loader is a hard boundary, so Fabric mods will not load alongside them.
